🔒 Free Anti-Scammer Tool

Step 3
Block Scammers From
Controlling Your Computer

Our free Remote Access Blocking script shuts the doors scammers use to take over your computer remotely — the #1 tactic used against seniors.

What this script does

When a scammer calls pretending to be "tech support," they try to get you to install a program that lets them control your screen. This script blocks those programs and the connections they rely on.

  • Blocks remote-control tools scammers use (TeamViewer, AnyDesk, VNC and more)
  • Turns off Windows' built-in remote access (RDP, Remote Assistance)
  • Blocks 25+ network "doors" (ports) that remote-control tools use
  • Blocks known scammer websites at the network level
  • Turns on anti-ransomware folder protection

💡 Want to also block scam and phishing websites across your whole network? Set up free secure DNS on our DNS Setup page — a perfect companion to this script.

⚠️ Please read before you run this

  • This makes real changes to your computer. It's designed to protect you, but it does turn features off.
  • If you use remote access on purpose — for example, a family member or a legitimate IT person who helps you via TeamViewer or Windows Remote Desktop — this script will block them. Don't run it if you rely on that.
  • You may need to restart for all changes to take effect.
  • It needs Administrator permission and will ask Windows for it — that's normal.
  • You run this at your own risk. If you're unsure about anything, please book a free call and we'll do it with you instead.

How to run it — 3 simple steps

1

Download the file

Click the button above and agree to the terms. A file named Acorn-RAT-Blocking.ps1 will save to your Downloads folder.

💡 If your browser warns that the file "isn't commonly downloaded," choose Keep. This is normal for security scripts — the file is safe.
2

Right-click the file and run it

Open your Downloads folder, right-click the file Acorn-RAT-Blocking.ps1, and choose "Run with PowerShell."

Windows will ask "Do you want to allow this app to make changes?" — click Yes. This is normal and safe.

💡 If you don't see "Run with PowerShell," right-click the file, choose Show more options first, then look for it.
3

Let it finish, then restart

The script runs on its own — you'll see green text as each protection is applied. When it says it's done, restart your computer to lock everything in.

For an extra layer of protection, set up free secure DNS afterward on our DNS Setup page.
